SMALL BUSINESS

  • Led effort to create County Community and Economic Development Office to attract and support new businesses
  • Led effort to create grant programs to support small businesses
  • Working to invest and redevelop areas that are blighted

ENVIRONMENT

  • Led effort to create Clark County Department of Environment and Sustainability and adopt County climate action plan
  • Led RTC effort to invest in more zero emission buses 
  • Supporting efforts to expand and protect Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and designate Avi Kwa Ame a national monument
  • Partnered with conservation groups to host Nevada Public Lands Day celebrations

EDUCATION

  • Led effort to create truancy prevention program in partnership between County and CCSD
  • Worked with principals and CCSD Safe Routes to School to add crosswalks and other safety measures for students

PUBLIC SAFETY

  • Partnered with Metro on numerous community events (e.g. Halloween Trunk or Treat, First Tuesday, National Night Out)
  • Supported more funding for additional fire stations in Southwest
  • Supported creation of Clark County Office of Traffic Safety to prioritize traffic safety on our roadways
  • Supported funding for diversion programs for individuals facing mental health or substance abuse issues

TRANSPORTATION

  • Improved traffic and pedestrian safety with more streetlights and pedestrian flashers, especially around schools and parks
  • Worked to widen and improve major roadways, including Durango, Ft. Apache, Jones, Cactus and Rainbow
  • Expanded bus and paratransit to SW Valley, including On Demand pilot program providing door-to-door service

PARKS AND TRAILS

  • Obtained millions in federal grant funds for Red Rock Legacy Trail
  • Added miles of new bike lanes
  • Worked to open new parks in the Southwest, with several more funded and currently in design phase
  • Led effort for funding of bike skills park at Warm Springs/Ft Apache
  • Led effort for funding of outdoor events venue at Desert Breeze

RURAL AREAS

  • Provided significant funds for Sandy Valley Food Share organization
  • Opened park expansion in Sandy Valley
  • Working with new owners of Pioneer Saloon to make improvements
  • Opened new trail in Goodsprings
